Bhupen chatting at a party. He was very sociable and liked to go out at least three times a week. He also frequently invited friends for drinks (in dry Gujarat). Old Monk Rum was among his favorite beverages.

BW and Bhupen in Sayaji Baug, Baroda. Picture taken by Sunil Kothari. Bhupen liked to walk in the garden each morning and then have a cup of tea with one of the guards.

Unknown person, Vallabh Bhai Contractor, BK, Hirabhai Thakker, BW. Mr. Thakker handled some of BK's finances. He took checks, for example, and deposited them. Mr. Vallabh Bhai took charge of Bhupen's bank accounts and was Bhupen's principal economic advisor. He even specified in his will which accounts belonged to Bhupen so that there would be no doubt about ownership.
